A five-minute pause for the people who pour out

Compassion Fatigue & Ministry Burnout Assessment

Clarity is not a failure of faith. This honest five-minute self-evaluation is for pastors, ministry leaders, recovery coaches, and purpose-driven professionals.

It looks at compassion fatigue, emotional exhaustion, and spiritual resilience. It is not a clinical diagnosis and does not replace professional medical or mental-health care.

Be honest, not heroic. The goal is clarity, not a perfect score.

Your responses stay in this browser while you complete the assessment. Nothing is collected, transmitted, or stored.

Section 1 — Emotional & Physical Exhaustion

1.I feel physically or emotionally drained at the end of most days, even before my work or ministry duties are finished.

2.I find myself feeling irritable, impatient, or numb when people come to me with their problems.

3.I experience frequent physical symptoms of stress (such as headaches, tight shoulders, fatigue, or disturbed sleep).

4.I feel like I am constantly “on call” and unable to truly disconnect from the needs of others.

Section 2 — The Performance Trap & Isolation

5.I feel the pressure to project strength and confidence, even when I am privately falling apart inside.

6.I struggle to set healthy boundaries because I worry about letting people down or appearing unspiritual.

7.I feel isolated in my leadership, believing that no one truly understands the weight I am carrying.

8.I catch myself performing my duties out of obligation or fear rather than genuine joy and calling.

Section 3 — Spiritual Dryness & Loss of Clarity

9.My personal prayer life or time in the Word feels more like a mechanical checklist than a source of nourishment.

10.I wonder if the work I am doing is making any real difference, or if I am just spinning my wheels.

11.I feel resentful when others ask for my time, energy, or counsel.

12.I have lost touch with my own personal vision, values, and the vibrant purpose God originally placed in my heart.

Section 4 — Resistance & Heavy Hearts

13.I find myself dreading difficult conversations or dealing with resistant, negative individuals.

14.My compassion feels weaponized against me — like I am constantly giving and getting nothing in return.
